What to expect

A typical evaluation consists of 6-8 hours of direct testing. This may be conducted over one, two, or three testing sessions. This will vary depending upon the age of your child, there reason for the evaluation, and his or her developmental level. Additional components of the assessment include an extensive clinical interview with parents, an observation of your student int he classroom, and consultation with teachers and treatment providers. A written evaluation report is provided and is presented to you at a feedback session 3-4 weeks following the appointments. This report will include diagnostic impressions, and extensive recommendations to support educational and clinical planning.

Shorter test batteries are also available when appropriate, such as gifted evaluations or private school admission testing.

Dr. Perlis is available to attend IEP meetings, upon request, at an additional fee.
